Carbon Neutral mortgage - Through our association with environmental group The CarbonNeutral® Company, for every home, which is purchased or re-mortgaged to N&P using a 'Carbon Neutral' mortgage, we plant 40 trees - eight trees per year for five years. Over time, the trees will absorb or offset the CO² emissions produced by living in an average property (e.g. in producing the energy for heating, lighting, using electrical appliances etc), making it carbon neutral for five years.
We have planted over 30,000 trees on behalf of our mortgage customers. Customers are offered the choice to carry on the scheme after the five years have elapsed, through The CarbonNeutral® Company. Find out more about our Green Mortgage.
Launched in 1998, the 'Green' mortgage offers homebuyers a free energy efficiency survey, a discount off the Society's base rate and up to £500 cash back that can be spent on the improvements recommended.
One of our qualified surveyors will complete a survey to assess the energy efficiency of your property. They will also be able to offer you advice and recommendations on how you can make your property more energy efficient. Find out more about our Brown Mortgage.
Paper-less Banking - In the last few years, N&P has introduced measures that reduce the levels of paper used by the Society and its customers including electronic application forms and online marketing literature.
