Frequently asked questions
How can I be sure I’m getting a fair price?
Norwich and Peterborough Insurance Brokers Limited (NPIB) is independent, which means we can search for the best deal from a panel of leading UK insurers.
I don’t do business in Norwich or Peterborough, why should I come to you?
Although Norwich and Peterborough Building Society (N&P) was formed on 31st October 1986 – when the Peterborough and the Norwich Building Societies merged – our roots go back as far as 1852. Since then we have attracted more and more customers in East Anglia and expanded our range of services, including NPIB, a subsidiary of the N&P group.
Through our personal approach, expert service and value for money we continue to grow and bring those same values to a wider market within the UK.
What business insurance do I need in law?
Any business with staff is legally required to have employer’s liability compulsory insurance. However other types of insurance may be mandatory for certain business activities – professional indemnity insurance for law or accountancy firms for example. And if your business uses motor vehicles they need to be covered. Unless you are highly familiar with the legal framework it makes sense to talk with an NPIB expert.
Who underwrites the policies?
We use a panel of top UK insurers, regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
How can I be sure that you have experience in my business sector?
The combined years experience of our team exceeds 150 years in the insurance industry. We deal with many different businesses every week so you’d have to have a very unusual operation to surprise us! And even if you did, we’d take the time to thoroughly understand how your business works.
