We're going Green
In January 2007, Norwich and Peterborough Building Society (N&P) became one of the first building societies to be “ CarbonNeutral®”. Since 1992 the Society has had a keen interest in promoting environmental issues – highlights being the 1998 launch of the “green” mortgage and in 2000, the world’s first “ CarbonNeutral®” mortgage. The Society has won awards for its environmental activities and was recently commended in the ‘Large Business’ category of the prestigious National Energy Efficiency Awards 2006.
N&P is working with The CarbonNeutral® Company to reduce and offset its emissions. After reduction measures have been put in place, the unavoidable emissions produced by N&P are offset through the support of UK reforestation and international renewable energy projects.
