We're a building society, so of course you'd expect us to know our stuff when it comes to mortgages and savings. But there's a lot more to N&P than that. We have people who can give you expert advice on all kinds of financial products and services including insurance and personal loans. N&P also has an independent Financial Advice Service. We're owned by our customers - i.e., we're a 'mutual'. This means we can focus on pleasing our customers, not profit-hungry equity shareholders. Instead of paying dividends, we look to provide our customers with better products, a branch network and the highest standards of service.

We can help you in many different ways. If you want to insure your car, home or your life, talk to us; if you (or your kids) want to save, we can offer you a wide range of options; if you want to set up a pension, we can help you; if you want to invest longer-term, we can help you do that, too. Or if you'd simply like some independent personal financial advice, we can offer you that, as well.

We have a network of over 50 branches in East Anglia, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Bedfordshire, which means that you can deal with our staff face-to-face. Find your nearest branch using the branch finder at the top of the page. If you prefer to manage your finances online, you can. Or you can phone our Contact Centre from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am - 5pm Saturday. You can even deal with us by post if you want to.

7. We've been around a long time
Although Norwich and Peterborough Building Society was formed on 31 October 1986 - when the Peterborough and the Norwich Building Societies merged - our roots go back as far as 1852. The Society now has over 50 branches and currently employ over 1,000 people - 400 at our principal office and Contact Centre and approximately 600 in our branch network and group companies. 10. We care as much about the environment as you do
In 1998, N&P became the very first lender to offer 'Green' mortgages. These special mortgages were introduced to encourage homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient . Now, for every 'Green' mortgage established, we plant 40 trees. In other words, when you borrow from us we will do our bit to combat global warming and reduce carbon emissions.
